The African Christian Democratic Party in the Western
Cape has called for a long term plan for Lwandle families
who were evicted by the South African National Roads Agency Limited.
Mayor Patricia de Lille together with Minister of
Human Settlement Lindiwe Sisulu are today visiting the displaced families who
are being housed at a community hall.
ACDP Provincial Spokesperson Ferlon Christians said
they believe that a long term solution which will be announced today by
Minister of Human Settlement is a step in the right direction
and as the ACDP we welcome this.
“We also asking government to look at long term
solution when it comes to informal settlement because incidents like Lwandle
cannot happen again we cannot go through the same process again and again.”
Christians added.
