The National Sea Rescue Institute were today called out to Plettenberg Bay whereby a light aircraft with only the pilot onboard had to make an emergency landing on Keubooms Beach.

It is believed that the aircraft lost its propeller 2500 feet and the pilot had declared an emergency landing on the beach.

NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said the pilot was not injured and did not need any medical assistance.

Lambinon added that the area was cordoned off by police and they are investigating the cause of the incident.
