An accident on the R40 road to the Kruger National Park from White River and Hazyview in Mpumalanga left ten people dead and burnt beyond recognition and forty injured.

The accident occurred when a bus collided with a truck and a car.  The truck then set alight.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene finding the large bus well ablaze.

Meiring added that ten lifeless bodies lay burnt around the bus. Paramedics immediately began their treatment of the forty patients found on scene, their injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

“Some of the patients required advanced life support before they were transported to various hospitals, including Mediclinic Nelspruit. Provincial fire services battled for some time to get the blaze under control.” Meiring said.
