Minister of Human Settlement Lindiwe Sisulu has called on Premier of the Western Cape Helen Zille to take responsibility instead of watching people suffer.

This as evicted Lwandle residents are still being housed in a community hall.

The South African National Roads Agency Limited said the land they had built their shacks on is land that is going to be used to build a road. Minister Sisulu has condemned the provincial government of politicking on Lwandle.

Ministerial Spokesperson Ndivhuwo Mabaya said she thinks that the premier and minister cannot disown the poor people of Lwandle.

“They must own both the poor and rich people of Cape Town and to stop the blaming game but solve the problems. The situation at the Hall must resolved it’s not dignified for them to stay in a hall Mabaya added.
