Sugar Industry workers to return to work

The Leadership of the Food and Allied Workers Union has announced that the strike action by about 5000 sugar industry workers,2 730 being members of FAWU,has resulted in a settlement agreement and workers will start returning back to work as from today.

National Sugar Sector Organizer Enoch Dlomo said the agreement was signed on Friday afternoon.

Dlomo said for the lowest paid workers it was agreed on 10% and that will be effected soon.

He added that the cutting of hours and the housing allowances will also be effected.
