Two arrested with possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition

Last night members attached to the East London Police Port of Entry arrested two males near Gulu just outside East London.

The members were doing observation on illegal Marine activities when they noticed the two suspects wondering around on the nearby farms.

Captain Marais said they tracked the suspects and stopped them and recovered two unlicensed firearms 14 rounds of ammunition and gunpowder.

“They were arrested and charged with possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition and appeared in the East London Magistrates' Court today to face their charges Marais added.
