The African Christian Democratic Party has raised its concern regarding learners who attend Mandisa Cenga school in Philippi are allegedly still having classes in containers.
Meanwhile last week MEC of
Eductaion Debbie Schafer said in a statement that the WCED is aware of this
need and have therefore already budgeted for a new high school in this area.
It is currently included in
the department’s infrastructure plan.
ACDP Provincial Leader Ferlon
Christians said we cannot let learners go to school in these conditions and
expect them to excel.
Christians said we have now
asked the Minister Debbie Schafer to intervene because they say that the department
promised them a school in 2010 and nothing has been done as it has been 5 years
done line already.
“We appeal for the Minister to
intervene so that a new school can be built” Christians added.
