The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa said it is glad that the MEC of Health in Gauteng has admitted that the health services in the province is in shambles.

This as recent reports reveal a backlog in human resource and equipment shortages which cause long queues at health facilities.

Denosa Provincial Chairperson in Gauteng Simphiwe Gada said these problems contribute a great deal to the slow pace of patient care in facilities.

Gada said now that they have admitted we trust and hope that they will be able to work with us because our members that are on the ground are the ones that are experiencing these challenges.

Gada said we speak from an informed point of view and not of ignorance, so we trust that the MEC will be able to work with us moving forward since they admitted to the issues in the health sector.

“We feel that it needs us as a collective responsibility to ensure that South Africans receive proper health care services” Gada added.
