19-year-old woman left in a critical condition on the R54 Vereeniging

A 19-year-old woman was left in a critical condition after her vehicle overturned on the R54 towards Vereeniging, approximately 10 kilometres outside Potchefstroom.

ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said paramedics arrived in the incident and found a woman still trapped in the vehicle as the vehicle was lying on its side.

The local fire service quickly stabilised the vehicle in order for paramedics to extricate her from the vehicle.

Vermaak said “she was found with multiple injuries and ER24 medical helicopter was called to the scene to airlift her to Mediclinic Sandton for further treatment”.

The exact cause of the incident is not yet know.
