Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa on Lesotho visit

Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa said his trip to Lesotho was a good one.

President Jacob Zuma as the organ in SADC of Peace and Security sent deputy Ramaphosa to Lesotho amongst tension over the murder of former army general, Maaparankoe Mahao.

Deputy President Ramaphosa said throughout Lesotho everybody is worried and concerned by the death of Lieutenant General Mahao.

Ramaphosa said we also took the opportunity to meet other stakeholders. We met parties in the opposition, we met the churches, we met the NGOs and we also saw the King. And no doubt everyone is very concerned about the passing of Lieutenant General Mahao.

Meanwhile South Africa will be sending a team of pathologists to do examination over the circumstances surrounding the death of Lieutenant General Mahao.

A special summit on Lesotho will be held in Pretoria tomorrow.
Deputy Ramaphosa said the summit of the Double Troika will consist of discussions in the presence and with the participation of Prime Minister Mosisili.

“I am sure that out of that discussion will come suggestions, proposals and solutions of how to take matters forward here in Lesotho” Ramaphosa added.
