There is a possibility that the license of Osi’s Place in Makaza, Khayelitsha could be revoked by the Western Cape Liquor Authority.

This as an urgent hearing for the temporarily suspension of the license of Osi’s will happen on Thursday.

According to the Western Cape Liquor Act a licence can only be fully revoked after it has first been suspended.

Last week Sunday eight people died and several injured in the popular tavern after a metal staircase collapsed.

Ministerial Spokesperson Bronwynne Jooste said this week the Western Cape Authority will bring an urgent application to suspend the licence of Osi’s place.

Jooste added that the liquor license and tribunal will hear the application and the hearing will take place on Thursday morning at the Liquor Authority offices in Bellville.
