13 Year-old injured in tractor accident

ER24 paramedics responded to an incident scene yesterday after a 13 year old boy fell of a truck on a farm on the R44 in Stellenbosch.

It is believed that the child lost his balance and fell off the tractor where the wheels of the trailer rode over his legs.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring has said, “on our arrival we found a child laying next to the tractor and trailer, on assessment we found that the boy had sustained severe injuries and fractures to both of his legs.”

Meiring mentioned that, ”Treatments and advanced life support interventions were performed on him and he was mobilized.

Once treated he was airlifted by a private medical helicopter to Tygerberg hospital for urgent treatment”

Police are investigating the cause of incident.
