8 people injured in a collision in Athlone

A
total of eight people were injured in a collision that occurred late last night
on the corner of Turfhall and Vanguard Roads in Athlone, in the Western Cape

spokesperson Pieter Rossouw said, when ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene
they found that all the patients came from the taxi, there were no patients in
the light motor vehicle.
ER24
paramedics transported a total of 5 patients to various state hospitals in the
area for further treatment.
The
other patients were transported by other services, Rossouw added.
The
cause of the collision remains unknown, however, local authorities were on
scene for further investigations.
