The George/Outdtshoorn acting Cluster Commander Brigadier Victoria Mavakala has praise police for the swift arrest of a man linked to the shooting incident of a police constable.

Police Spokesperson Malcom Pojie said the 27 year old Mvunyisi Nomnganga is linked to various crimes such as two armed robberies, attempted murder and possibly car high jacking dating back in May.

Poljie has said, “We managed to arrest the suspect in connection with a shooting incident a month ago where one of the constables in Thembalethu was shot after the suspect fled the scene.”

Poljie says, “We managed to place him down in the hospital in the Eastern Cape, to the town of East London.

However when they got there, the detectives, found out he already discharged himself without the knowledge of the doctors.

We traced him back to his hometown and arrested him, and he was brought in and transferred to George on Friday.”

He will appear again in court on the 13th August.
