ANC Youth League president says youth must take over now

ANC Youth League president Collen Maine in a statement says young leaders within the ruling party are ready to rise to the occasion and lead South Africa.

He says Recent experiences have proved beyond a reasonable doubt that the ideas of the old leaders they no longer have energy to implement them.

 Maine told those who had attended the Youth League's launch of Youth Month and the commemoration of the 1976 June 16 uprising in Soweto that they  are ready to take over.

 He said the youth should thank the old leaders in the party for all the work they had done to get South Africa to where it was today, but advised the senior leaders to retire and allow the youth to lead.
