The Public Protector says her report indicated that President Jacob Zuma should pay the amount of R7.8 million for his Nkandla home and not supporters.

This comes as some structures of the African National Congress mobilise members to help pay for the costs outlined by Treasury.

Thuli Madonsela spoke to reporters on the sidelines of the 80th anniversary celebrations of the Temple Israel in Hillbrow.

Last month, Treasury submitted its report to the Constitutional Court saying it believes the president should pay back the amount.
