In a statement issued the
Western Cape ANC says it is saddened by the senseless loss of lives, with yet
another gang-related shooting in Hanover Park yesterday.
ANC Media Liaison Yonela Diko
says as the ANC, they refuse to accept that the community of Hanover Park must
accept that gang-related shootings are part of their lives.
Diko says “The ANC provided a blueprint on combating
crime when we were governing this City and Province through partnerships with
communities through Bambanani programmes and through empowering street
He says “Hanover Park has rightfully demanded that the Provincial and City’s
Safety structures must consult them when conducting their ‘piece meal’
programmes which are inconsequential without being driven in partnership with
ANC demands an urgent and clear strategy from the DA government to deal with
this matter decisively.” He concluded
