Cricket South Africa has accepted with regret the decision of the Gestetner Diamond Eagles batsman, Boeta Dippenaar”s to retire from international cricket at the end of the current South African season.
“He wants to start toning down his cricket activities and concentrate on his future life outside cricket as he grows older,” says CSA spokesperson, Michael Owen-Smith.
Dippenaar is also contracted to Leicestershire as an overseas professional player but will continue playing for the Eagles upon his return.
“He will continue to captain the team to victory in the Supersport series and I have a very good feeling that he’ll make a lot of runs and be the most successful fielder in the competition,” says Owen-Smith.
Dippenaar made his international debut in 1999 in both ODI’s against India in Nairobi and Tests against Zimbabwe in Bloemfontein.
