Four suspects were arrested during an integrated search operation between the Cape Town Metro Police Dog Unit and the South African Police Services in Somerset West yesterday.
During the operation a variety of narcotics were located.
“Mandrax tablets, tik straws, tik lollies, rocks used Dagga pipes were confiscated,” said Metro Police Chief Robert Young.
Police also found R6343.95 in cash.
Young says he was proud of the team’s achievements.
“I want to commend the Metro Police officers for their wonderful efforts in curbing crime. It was their first operation with the dogs, and we expect even more success during the festive season,” he said.
The Dog Unit is tasked with various functions relating to the fight against drugs.
