USA woman survives train accident

A 20 year old woman, believed to be from the United States of America is receiving treatment in hospital after being hit by a train in Stellenbosch this morning.

She was cycling over the Lynedoch railway crossing when the incident occurred.

ER24 spokesperson Tristan Wadely says they were the first crew to arrive on the scene.

“We were amazed to find that the lady had only sustained moderate injuries, said Wadeley.

She was taken to Stellenbosch Medi-Clinic for further treatment.
