Concern is mounting over the escalating public spat between the African National Congress and its alliance partner, Cosatu.

ANC spokesperson Jackson Mthembu and Cosatu’s Zwelinzima Vavi have been at each other’s throats, with Vavi accusing elements in the ANC leadership of only being interested in enriching themselves.

Mthembu countered by accusing the trade union federation of sowing division and acting like an opposition party.

Newsflash agency has reported that Vavi has demanded a meeting with the ANC leadership to discuss the spat.
