Councillor killed by boyfriend

The ANC's Ward 44 Councillor Nombulelo Ntloko has died after being shot by her boyfriend in Gugulethu this morning.

44 year old Ntloko was shot in the head and she died later in hospital.

43 year old Lenox Nkohla from Nyanga also committed suicide by turning the gun on himself and he was declared dead on the scene.

Police’s Warrant Officer November Filander says upon their arrival on the scene both were lying in the bedroom each with gunshot wound to the head.

“Both victims were in the main bedroom, behind closed door. They were lying on the floor with gunshot wounds to their heads. The murder weapon, a 9mm pistol was lying next to them on the floor,” said Filander.

Filander says they allege the incident was provoked by an argument between the couple.

An inquest and murder case are opened to establish circumstances around the incident.
