Following the brutal death of AWB leader Eugene Terre’Blanche racial tension has become much more visible.
Reports say on a social networking site racist war has escalated since the AWB leader was murdered.
Users have been posting racist and obscene comments on fan pages dedicated to Terre’Blanche and ANC Youth League President Julius Malema.
ANC leader in the Western Cape Provincial Parliament Lynn Brown says Terre’Blanche’s death is not a new thing on racial tension in the province and the country as whole.
She argues that it has however highlighted the on going tension.
“I don’t think Terre’Blanches death has brought about racial tension but it has highlighted the racial tensions within our society.
“We as government, parties, members of the legislature and ordinary people on the street has got to deal with issues of race,” said Brown.
Brown also commented on the racist allegations that have marred the DA led administration in the Western Cape.
She says they (ANC) have requested the Human Rights Commission and the Equality Court to investigate these allegations and if verified Premier Helen Zille should answer.
