Retired clothing workers to receive free health care

The Southern African Clothing and Textile Workers’ Union (SACTWU) announced today, nearly 3 000 retired clothing workers will be granted free access to medical care.

The retired industry workers will benefit from the Clothing Industry Healthcare Fund which will allow them free access to the Union’s seven clinics in the province.

Retirees will receive primary health care services as well as access to dental and optical care.

The Fund will be cross-subsidised by clothing workers currently employed.
