The body of a 2-year-old boy found in Valhalla Park

The body of a 2-year-old boy who went missing in a fire at Valhalla Park on Monday has been found.

The City of Cape Town officials today said the body of Christiano van Wyk was found yesterday afternoon.

Disaster Risk Management Centre Spokesperson Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said that the mother had left the child with a friend.

He further said the body has been taken to the state mortuary in Salt River to perform an autopsy.
