Cape Town water safe to drink

Today Cape Town city officials said the slight change in water smell and taste is not harmful.

They also said that this could last up to four weeks.

The change in colour and taste is due to a natural occurance called geosim that occurs during hot conditions.

Residents have been sending in complaints regarding the quality of water.

Mayco member Shehaam Sims said that the water is still safe to drink and utilize for for cooking.
