The Theewaterskloof Municipality said today hundreds of people dispersed after a violent service delivery protest outside Villiersdorp.

Tyres were burnt near the Goniwe Informal Settlement , over servicing of property in the area.

A municipal building was allegedly petrol bombed by protesters.

Municipal manager Stan Wallace said they are in the process of buying the property but they are waiting for the funding to come from the province.

He added that the municipality can do nothing until then.
