A suspect arrested for being in possession of a stolen car

A 28-year-old man appeared in court on Monday for hijacking and being in possession of a stolen vehicle in Wolmaransstad. 

Police Spokesperson Captain Pelonomi Makau said it is alleged that the accused was arrested after he was driving reckless and collided with two other vehicles.

Makau said it is further alleged that his passenger fled the scene after the incident and a community member managed to apprehend the driver before he could flee the scene as well.

“When police arrived on the scene they discovered that the vehicle the suspect was driving a hijacked car” Makau added.
 
The suspect will remain in custody until his next court appearance on the 7th of April for confirmation of residential address.
