A collision involving a police van and a car in Mitchells Plain on Tuesday, left nine people injured. Reports from the scene indicate that a black Toyota Yaris and a police van were involved in the collision.

are probing a reckless and negligent case
‘’According to reports the SAPS vehicle was coming from
Pollsmoor Prison enroute to Philippi Magistrates court when the accident
happened with a black Toyota. One female and five males was slightly injured
and taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment under police guard. All
prisoners are accounted for and the rest were taken to court.The two occupants
of the Toyota and two SAPS members were also transported to a nearby hospital
for treatment,’’ said Captain F.C Van Wyk, Western Cape police spokesperson.
