Three people have died in a shack fire in the Blowie informal settlement in Khayelitsha in the early hours of Monday.
Western Cape police say the bodies of the deceased were
found in the debris after the fire was extinguished.
‘’ Makhaza police registered an inquest for
investigation after a fire broke out on Monday morning, 08 December 2025, at
about 04:10, in Blowie informal settlement, Town Two, Khayelitsha. The bodies
of three persons were found among the debris after Fire and Rescue Service
extinguished the fire. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under
investigation and the cause of the fire is yet to be established,’’ said Sergeant
Wesley Twigg, Western Cape police spokesperson.
