Erwin brushes off bribe allegation claims

Public Enterprise Minister Alec Erwin brushed off allegations that top politicians pocketed bribes from German companies who were bidding for the corvette component of the arms deal. Erwin said that the contracts clinched during the country’s controversial deal were all well managed and turned out to be successful. However after the suspension that bribes were paid, the prosecuting authorities raided offices of the companies involved in the deal. According to IOL, Tshediso Matona Trade and industry Director General said the offset programmes of the arms deal saw a successful invest in the country.
