Portugal is hoping to beat France for the first time in 31 years, in tonight’s semi-final of the 2006 FIFA World Cup. There are however some concerns regarding injuries to Portuguese captain Luis Figo and Manchester United wing, Christiano Ronaldo. Figo picked up an injury in the team’s quarterfinal clash against England, and Ronaldo was injured during the match against the Netherlands. The team will get a boost with the return of playmaker Deco and defensive midfielder Costinha, who have been on suspension. Coach, Luiz Felipe Scolari says the team is capable of beating France, although the French are favoured to win tonight.
