Western Cape Premier Ebrahim Rasool decided to look into SMSes that were leaked to the media concerning an alleged affair between Safety MEC Leonard Ramatlakane and a SABC journalist last week. According to the Cape Times, the Daily Voice who exposed the alleged affair refused to give up their sources and said that Rasool would just “ shoot the messenger.” Rasool asked police to investigate on how the SMSes were accessed and then to announce it to the public. Yesterday Rasool said that, lately there were plenty of incidents that breached provincial government security and that this would be taken very serious. ANC’s provincial secretary Mcebisi Skwatsha refused to comment, but denies any decision to drag Ramatlakane before the ANC.
