Ronaldhino burns in Brazil

By Tarryn Le Chat

After suffering a 1-0 defeat to France, defending champions Brazil’s FIFA 2004 world player of the year - Ronaldhino’s, seven metre statue went up in flames. This after Brazilian fans in the southern town of Chapeco, in Santa Catarina, expressed their anger of the team’s exit from the 2006 soccer world cup. The resin-and-iron tribute to Ronaldhino depicting him with a ball has been left as a burnt-out metal skeleton statuette.
