Two men who narrowly escaped injury when their car was stoned on the N2 highway on Sunday say that they saw their attacker.
Owner of the Societi Bistro in the V&A Waterfront, Peter Weetman and his partner Gerhard Müller say they saw their attacker leaning on a bollard on a narrowing stretch of a highway near the airport, where traffic has to slow down to 80 km/h, before he ran off into an informal settlement at the side of the road.
They were attacked when driving back to Cape Town from a family gathering in Somerset West at around 3pm. The stone hit and shattered one window of the car; no one was injured during the incident. This is the first reported incident of stone throwing on the N2 highway since July 18.
