Two former students from Noluthando School for the deaf in Khayelitsha are going to Netherlands for a once in a life time experience to learn boat building.
Songezo Nkwenkwezi 18 and Kgabiseng Nkahle 20 are leaving for Amsterdam this month for a two week course. The school’s aim is to train learners so that they meet job requirements by the time they leave school.
The school currently has 208 learners but they would like to increase the numbers to accommodate more pupils in the Western Cape.
According to the Cape Times, the school will today be launching the boat building project corresponding with the Deaf Awareness Week campaign.
