Russian president, Vladimir Putin wraps up his official state visit to South Africa today.
President Thabo Mbeki and President Putin will engage in a round table business meeting attended by the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Mandisi Mpahlwa and his Russian counterpart Petrovitch Trutnev.
Mbeki and Putin are expected to make joint statements after the meeting.
A signing ceremony of the framework of cooperation will commence at 10h25. The two presidents will witness the signing of the agreements.
Mpahlwa will talk about business opportunities and the challenges of South Africa doing business in Russia, while Trutnev will discuss business opportunities and the challenges of Russia doing business in South Africa.
Putin will visit Robben Island around noon, followed by a visit to the Cape Point Nature Reserve. This is the first-ever visit to South Africa by a Kremlin leader.
