4 October 2006
A 77-year-old woman was attacked by assailants at her home in Rondebosch on Sunday.
Esne Sherrat’s car was subsequently used in two hijackings in the area.
The attack occurred at 6pm when ADT raised the alarm after noticing the garage was open and the car was gone.
Graham Sherrat the victims son told the Cape Times that neighbours became suspicious after hearing a noise.
Sherrat is in hospital with a cracked skull and there is no guarantee that she will survive the brutal attack.
Police have however recovered the car.
