A passenger of a WV Golf died when the car was involved in a collision with a bus on the N1 north freeway, north of Johannesburg.

The car’s remains were stuck under the back of the bus, the passenger died on the scene but the driver is in critical condition in hospital.

According to the bus driver, he was on his way to Pretoria, as he approached the New Road offramp; he heard and felt something strange.

He was not sure what it was, so he travelled for at least 70 metres before stopping to investigate.

ER24 spokesperson Riana Beech says few of the bus passengers were treated for shock and minor injuries.
