Convicted fraudster Schabir Shaik has been admitted to hospital to undergo maxillo-facial surgery.
Shaik has now spent a total 44 days in Durban’s St Augustine’s hospital. His face was apparently swollen and bruised due to a dental problem that he has been suffering from, before his sentence.
Mo Shaik spokesperson for Schabir says that he was in an unstable condition with chronically dangerous high blood pressure.
Doctors are concerned about his condition because he suffers from transient ischemic attack (TIA), which could lead to a stroke.
According to reports Shaik will be entitled to stay in hospital until doctors think he is ready to be discharged.
