Two men were arrested in Cape Town after they were found in possession of mandrax worth R3.7 million.
Police from the Northern Cape acted to a tip-off received from members of the public and worked with the Western Cape police in search for a truck believed to be carrying the drugs.
The truck was found on Friday afternoon parked near Montague Drive in Milnerton. Approximately 107 000 mandrax tablets packed in boxes were confiscated by police.
Police spokesperson Inspector Bernadine Steyn says the 47-year-old driver and a 52-year-old man, who allegedly received the drugs from the driver, was arrested on the scene.
The men are due to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on Monday
