Police, murder suspect exchange fire on Cape Flats

Police have captured a man who is believed to have fatally wounded another man in Gugulethu yesterday morning.
Two armed men shot and killed a man in NY 99 in Gugulethu, and then escaped in a white vehicle. Members of the community who witnessed the incident alerted police on patrol. Police then gave chase until the NY52 where the suspect stopped the vehicle and jumped out.
When police tried to catch the suspect he fired shots at them, but they responded by shooting him in the stomach.
Police arrested the man and seized the firearm. The suspect was taken to hospital and is under police guard. The second suspect is still at large.
