Police have appealed to the public to help assist them in the murder case of seven-year-old Aphiwe Blackie who went missing last week.
They are currently offering a reward to anyone who has information about the people who were involved in the murder of the Mossel Bay girl.
Aphiwe went missing last week Sunday and police found her body dumped in bushes on Monday, 200 metres from her grandmother’s home in the KwaNonqaba informal settlement.
The little girl was last seen playing with a group of friends but by six the evening, her grandmother Lindelwa Blackie reported her missing.
Police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie says they have been looking into possibilities that she might have been raped. He also confirmed that there had been marks on her body and that she was wearing clothes.
Anyone with information should call investigating officer Kabous Oosthuizen at the KwaNonqaba police station on 044 693 1966 or his cellphone on 082 334 7566. You can also contact CrimeStop on 08600 10111 and remain anonymous.
