Public transport interchange opens

As from Monday, 30 July 2007, mini-bus taxis will start to operate from the newly constructed Public Transport Interchange,opposite Claremont Railway station.

“All minibus-taxi commuters in the vicinity are advised that they must board and alight at this taxi rank,” says Director of Roads and Storm Water, Henry Du Plessis.

Golden Arrow bus commuters will be able to board buses to Mitchells Plain in Roscommon Road and commuters to Khayeitsha will be able to board in Hawthorne Road. All other destinations are clearly marked.


Du Plessis adds, “Clearly identified signage will be placed around the construction sites to facilitate movements.”

The City of Cape Town apologises for the inconvenience.
