Another taxi driver was gunned down on Sunday evening in Harare, Khayelitsha bringing the number of drivers killed in the Western Cape to 6 in the last three weeks.
The 24-year-old driver was driving a Congress of Democratic Taxi Association (Codeta), taxi at the time of the attack.
According to police, three men were seen fleeing the crime scene shortly after some gunshots were heard by the neighbours.
“Police were sent out to attend to the taxi shooting and on arrival found the driver already dead with his engine still running,” says police spokesperson, Captain Elliot Sinyangana.
“The taxi driver sustained a bullet wound to the head,” says Sinyangana.
The motive for the attack is still unknown. Police are investigating a case of murder.
