Premier launches Provincial children’s rights advisory council
Premier Ebrahim Rasool will on Friday, 17 August, launch the Western Cape Children’s Rights Advisory Council as part of government’s efforts to protect the rights of children and advance their interests.
“It’s all about a platform to facilitate the children’s rights mandate in the province, it’s a process that is happening nationally and we are one of nine provinces that are launching this council,” says Deputy Director of social dialogue and Human rights.
The Premier has previously expressed deep concern about the murder and abuse of children and will address this issue at the launch.
