# The stormy weather has resulted in many destitute animals from informal settlements, which the Cape of Good Hope SPCA has rescued. The kennels are cold and blankets are urgently needed to keep these animals warm and to prevent them from falling ill.

# Cape Town Mayor Helen Zille is hosting a fundraising ball for the Down Syndrome Association Western Cape to mark its 30th anniversary.

The theme is “Down to Earth”, and it will be held on Friday the 31 of August from 19:00 at the Cape Town Civic Centre.
