Newly elected National Convenor of Selectors, Joubert Strydom, announced the 15-man Proteas T20 Squad to participate in the Inaugural ICC World Twenty20 SA 2007 on Saturday.
“We are very happy with the squad, I think there’s a nice balance between international experience and more importantly a pro20 experience which is the one competition the guys played a lot of over the past three years in SA, says National convenor of selectors, Joubert Strydom
The preparation will be a trip to Zimbabwe for the three ODI games and thereafter a camp before the cricket World Cup.
“We think that this side is well equipped to play in this new format and will fair very well,” says Strydom.
Members of the T20 squad will be in Alexandra for a coaching clinic for cricketers on Saturday the 18th and will be in Durban for the Beach festival for more coaching on the 2 September.
