Shooting incident leads to a murder and attempted murder investigation

Police have opened a case-docket of murder and attempted murder, after a shooting took place on Tuesday night at a house in Grootkop Street, Manenberg.

“On Tuesday night at about 17h50, a 28 year-old man (Sedick Abdullah) was fatally wounded and a 42 year-old man was seriously wounded, “ says police spokesperson, Captain Randall Stoffels.

Stoffels explains that information received by investigators on the scene; alleged that one armed suspect entered the house and fired several shots at the victims.

“The 28 year-old man sustained three gunshot wounds to the chest, shoulder and head. He passed away on the scene," says Stoffels.

Stoffels adds that the 42 year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his cheek and is currently in a stable condition in hospital.

“After the shooting incident, it is alleged that the suspect fled the scene on foot,” says Stoffels.

Stoffels says that in their efforts to establish the motive for the incident, they are still investigating all possibilities.
