A 17-year-old boy is due to appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate court on Thursday on a charge of murder. He was arrested after a police investigation about the murder of a teenager in the presence of his parents in Langa.
Last Monday, a group of males visited the deceased home as if they were friends. The victim was suddenly attacked and left unconscious at Zone 127 in Langa. After the attack, the father of the victim took him to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The 17-year-old suspect now faces a murder charge. Police say it is possible that more charges could be linked to him.
The investigation continues. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Thembisike Matinise of Langa police on 021 695 8000 or the Crime stop share call number, 08600 10111.
